Backyards are special places. They”re where we hang out with friends and family, spending long summer afternoons and evenings having cookouts and enjoying each other”s company. Some of the fondest memories many of us have took place in a backyard.
But sometimes, building a space that anyone actually wants to hang out in is much easier said than done.
This guy”s backyard was an absolute disaster. It was filled with a ton of debris, and there was no space for any leisurely activity. It wouldn”t be easy to revive, but he accepted the challenge…
This was the state of his backyard when he purchased the property.
First, he had to bring in some heavy machinery to clear out all the debris.
Once he had cleared out the area, he began building his dream space.
His next step was building an enclosed space out of limestone blocks.
Once he had constructed the basic shape of the wall, he began working on a sitting area.
He built supports for a bench that would line the wall”s interior.
Recycled jarrah wood finished off the benches.
Once the bench construction was complete…
He wanted to give the wood a deeper tone, so he used some stain.
More limestone blocks were used to create a shallow barrier…
Gravel was added along with a cast iron bowl for a fire pit. After a little clean-up, his project was complete!
Even the dogs seemed to like it!
That is one serious backyard transformation. This is the perfect spot for parties and gatherings with people you care about. Projects like this one really help make life much sweeter.
