Squirrels are pesky little critters, always digging up people”s gardens, destroying plants, and more often than not, dropping acorns on unsuspecting passersby.
One man had seen enough. He wasn”t going to take it anymore. They destroyed his garden while he slept one too many times!
Initially, none of the traditional methods of warding off rodents worked, so he created a bionic version of the squirrel”s natural predator. Once his creation was complete, he could rest soundly, assured that those creatures wouldn”t be bothering his innocent garden anytime soon.
These were the parts with which he would build his hilarious squirrel-hunting monster.
A motion-detecting camera was placed on the inside of the fake bird”s head.
The owl was equipped with motors, allowing movement of its head and wings.
This is where he attached wings.
An internal squirt gun was rigged up to the motion sensor. If a squirrel crawled in front of the owl, it would get a face full of water.
That little orange nozzle at the base of the owl is the squirt gun.
He then attached a hose to the squirt gun that would connect to a water reservoir…
A.k.a., a five gallon bucket of water the owl was perched on.
Here”s what it”s like to look into the face of this robotic owl.
Not gonna lie: this thing is pretty intimidating.
This owl is actually pretty terrifying. If I were a squirrel, I wouldn”t wanna run into this thing. At least this will teach those little suckers to stay out of people”s gardens!
