    1. @noIMspartacus For the record: 1.Only a nationalist Greek would include “sparta” in their name, which raises the possibility of you being quite uneducated, and explains your vocabulary. 2. Your comment didn’t age well, he campaigned with his own party and guess what, he entered the parliament, no strings attached.

    2. @noIMspartacus my life is great already, i have a nice job starting again soon, at the univesity, where i try to teach students to think, with the hope of them becoming exactly the opposite of you.

  1. Yanis was my lecturer back at The University of Sydney in the early nineties in Economics I, II, and III. He was 26 years old with 2 PhDs, one in mathematics and one in Economics. He was brilliant and he is even more brilliant today. I wish that he is more direct with less analogy usage or maybe he should just directly explain what the analogy exactly meant.
Still lots of respect to my Master of Economics. 🙏

    1. @Robert MacDonnell That was a terrible mistake to prevent Mr. Trump’s reelection. He might not be exactly what people wanted but he reflected people aspirations for change. He somehow answered for the change on peoples’ mood, following new trends all over the World that have exausted American elites’ neoliberal agenda. The mediatic cup of the soap of letters Americans’ corporate newspaper such as for NYT, WSJ. FT or CIA-CNN, mobilizing payed journalist all over Internet did not change peoples’ mood and new trends against more of the same blá, blá, blá from Boston, New York or Wall Street about the wonders of moving industries to Comunist China and having you loosing your job; and that everybody against them are fascists Fascism is something that belongs to the 20th century back almost 100 years ago. Imposing minorities rules and their cultural values, ignoring mojorities social values are no more than receipt for social disaster, upheavel and angerness. These Americans’ elite got used to imposing anything they want since the 1960s, forgetting that nothing last forever and that their policies of sex, drugs and rock-on-roll to alienate people while transfering all industries abroad came to an end. They just don’t accept that! The new American Administration are going to have hard times ahead. The economic crises will not subside, fake pandemic strategy is agravating the situation and they will never put back in the trails their neoliberal agenda against people moods and new trends, this is just like that…

    2. When The America elite from Boston NY or Wallstr. ignore peoples moods and try to impose their values, no propaganda will ever change people’s own perception of the reality and that perception does match to that of them. Their policies to empower minorities is closed related to their policies to empower Comunist China as dominant power in the world, trying to make people used to the face of the Chinese Comunist ruler, associating any criticism to any social minorities group to their strategies to empower this Chinese Comunist rulers and in the end the images are similar if not the same. The images you end up seeing are similar as for a ghetto in Europe, US or Shangai or Beijing. That make you used to that and accept the ruler of a comunist distator from China. And, this is political propaganda to empower Comunist China. If you say or write any criticism to that and they promote an avalanche of more of same with the usual dramatic images from the ghettos and, of course, that you are a fascist or from extreme rightwing. None of these, but the perception that what “they” are trying to “sell” to you do not match your own perception of the reallity around. It is just like that…

    3. @Robert MacDonnell Had Tocqueville returned alive and “Democracy in America” had to be rewrite. In the descriptions of the American way of life of the 19th century, as I remember when I read Tocqueville while studying as foreign student in Washington DC , the center of the comunity life, back then, was the church, the religion and the endless desire to debate and to vote about every single aspect of public decisions which put autority under permanent scrutiny and bounded Americans around the same project of a democratic nation. And, Marteen Luther King well reflected this perception of Tocqueville about American society as a religious, guiding his people to the promise land… From Tocqueville to Luther King 100 years had passed and from there to these present days about 50 years. And, from the glorious first 100 years, Americans descend into this present time, when their beacon of civilization is a miserable Comunist dictatorship; and the desire to debate and vote turned to be the desire to slandering, difamation and voting manipulation. The center of American’ way of life is not the church any more but the soup of letters corporate midia such as for NYT, WSJ, FT, and CIA-CNN, which have usurped the role of the political parties, creating these Innocuous forums for strictly controlled debates of their own agenda in the Internet. And, the preaching of the words of god was replaced by endless debate about wall street bond’s cotations. And, the colorful America of the 19th century turned into this brutal industrial neoliberal regime in permanent state of changing, beaconing every day that a brute force like this Comunist Chinese regime has replace “Democracy in America”. Requien for Tocqueville.

    4. It is pretty obvious the moral decay of this neoliberal society which has its origin in the 1960’s. The neoliberals from Boston NY e Wallstr got used to whatever they say goes. And that they were Champions of Democracy and new ideas. In summary, the perfect example of a “good” imperialist animating the idea of transfering all american industrial assets into Comunist China. Remember back then inthe 1980’s ? With the help of a repressive avalanche of information imposed by its soup of letters corporate midia as for NYT, WSJ, FT and CIA-CNN; everybody bought it easily without questionning them. Now the dream turned sour and guesswhat; we are dinning out at Macdonald’s. Congratulations your job has been transfered to Comunist China. And, we all ended up like Dorothies in the end of this rainbow in Shanghai but jobless. Magic but not quite “OZ”.

    1. Great hero, what to say we give him away to you for free as a gift to your country to save you. All yoursssss. Don’t thank us please

  2. I love this man’s rational speech in our current emotionally roller-coastering times. He reminds me of Christopher Hitchens… <3.

    1. @Ricardo Gomes Rodrigues You sound more and more like a puppet. No answers. Just a monologue. You scatter around words like gay marriage, abortion and communism without reflection. A meaningless conversation

    2. @zocker bit You sound like a unemployed journalist hired by the corporate neoliberal midia to instigate innocuous debate in strictly controlled internet foruns. Then, democracy is not democracy but that of the elite from Boston NY e Wallstr manipulated by their the soup of letters newspaper such ad for NYT, NY, FT and CIA-CNN. Your task is not to reply with ideas by to desqualify, to slander and to defame. I am sorry to be the one to tell you that but it shows.

  3. An essential listen for any European, in fact any human. I voted Remain but am horrified by the hero worship of Brussels. Yanis says it how it is, A very, very dangerous man for German bankers!

  4. As an American, I wish I got to vote for this guy for president. You Europeans are fortunate to have him. Hopefully you can make good use of him.

    1. @TALIBAND OFFICIAL He is very popular in the UK. I disagree with some of his solutions but he has certainly identified most of the problems and he does something most politicians fail to do. He listens.

    2. @Peter D Well UK choose Brexit(good for you)but Varoufakis is against Grexit he thinks that we can live inside EU.I doubt.Greetings from Greece.

    3. Are you for real?
He’s a fucking clueless, hard-core stalinist, globalist, antiEuropean, islam-loving POS.
      A Kalergi, Munzenberg, Monnet adherent.
      Soros’ puppet/employee.

  5. So refreshing to hear sensible, and challenging, arguments. Must listen out for his next talks. Sounds like a very decent chap too

    1. @Snaggle Toothed oh really. I thought it was the aliens from area 51 or the reptilians who do such things but wait they are focused to fix that shifting issues of theirs nowadays so yes maybe its the Russians indeed.

    1. You see my friend, the question here is that I am not complain bacause the results in my life were not quite what I expected. No. No. It is not that, at all. What I am saying to you is that after paying US 200.000 (back then) to study in an American University in Washington DC the results were null. None at all. The conclusion is prety obvious something very terrible has happened back then that ruined the rest of my life. After, then a miserable persecution try systematically to destroy my life in a very perverse way. Then, what? So the question is why? A foreign student, as I was, following the rules, paying high price for an education, cannot end up in misery because every where I went with this american degree I have been disqualified. American government must over see the results of this kind of thing. I was there under an agreement between US and Brazil that allowed me to attend to and American University. I did not went there on my own. I was not deported or was illegaly in US. How come, everything that happened after that is just plain ruin to my life. Now, at age of 64 I have acumullated nothing, no salary, no retirement plan, just fony judicial process that, one after the other, destroyed my life. And, that has happened since I went to study in Washington DC at George Washington University, And this process of ruininh my life started there. American government respond as guarantor in this process because all that was the result of an agreement between Brazil and US, resulting that my education at George Washington University was payed by the Brazilian government. Which kind of disrespect is that. For some reason was caught in the middle of an internal political dispute inside America and had to pay with my life, and is still paying. They just did not have the courage to shoot at me.
